Baby Party Preview

I've spent the last 3.5 hours culling & editing the 646 pictures that Melanie took of the baby party. I'm not ready to blog about the entire thing but I did want to give you a preview of my favorite pictures from that day which have nothing to do with me and everything to do with the funniest set of 2 year olds I have ever met!

I'm hoping I can get the rest blogged by tomorrow. Lots to share & lots to show you so stay tuned!

Maternity Pictures

Here are the rest of the maternity pictures that my friend Mel took this past Sunday. All of them are amazing so it was hard for me to pick my top 91 out of 531 pictures to share in a galley. You can imagine how much harder it was to pick a few to share with you.

Sneak Peek

This past Saturday Melanie came over and we did MATERNITY pictures. I wanted to do them while I was still cute and pregnant and before I blow up like Jessica Simpson(I promise it's gonna happen). She (and I) have been pinning maternity shots that we liked on Pinterest so we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to capture. But there was something special I wanted to do.

There is a field across the street from our neighborhood that looks lovely each time I pass it. The sun hits the field in the most amazing way when I'm headed to work each morning and I have BEEN dreaming about doing a photo session in it for over a year. At first I thought it was a wheat field but once we got in it, I realized it was just a grass field out of control. Whatever it is, it made the most amazing golden bokeh. So we hit it up in the "golden hour" which is one hour before the sun sets.

Here is a sneak peek of one of the AMAZING shots we got from that field!!!

I can't wait to show you more towards the end of the week. They turned out better than I had imagined them in my mind.

That shot is what we call TALENT!!!! I'm going to miss my friend Mel when she moves to Germany in May. There will be a thousand things that I will miss about her that have nothing to do with photography but it truly is a blessing to have such a talented friend who "gets" your vision, can carry it out and then gets more excited about it than you do. Match made in heaven!

I leave you with a little laugh. My "shared" vision sometimes comes across as me directing people on what to do. Poor Mel saw a lot of this in her view finder.

I'm SO thankful for TRUE friends who love me despite the fact that I am a BABY DIVA.

Another person that had to be directed? This guy!He woke up at 4:15am last Sunday to be in charge of the roadie team for Easter service & he was wiped out. We had to wake him up from a 3 hour nap and the last thing he wanted to do was take pictures. But he graciously agreed to give us ONE hour of photo time but it wasn't without a few faces!

26 Weeks

I'm 26 weeks pregnant (6.5 months). Not much new since last baby bump post except more growth. One day this week my stomach was in so much pain. It literally felt like somebody was stretching out my skin. My tummy hurt like somebody punched it. I had no clue what was going on. The next day I weighed myself and I had gained 1.5 lbs since the day before. Guess we hit a growth spurt this week.

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!!!

How far along? 26 weeks (6.5 months)
Total weight gain? Who knows? 16 lbs?
Maternity Clothes? Yep, buying lots of dresses. Need to chill out on the shopping.
Sleep? Still good
Best moment of the week? Seeing her dance routine from the outside of my stomach. I literally saw my stomach move and it looked like she was punching with her right fist going "1,2,3". Then she did it again with her left fist "1,2,3". Looks like Todd may have a kick boxing buddy on his hands!
Missing Anything? No pelvic pressure & my small boobs. I'm pretty sure I'm about to go up ANOTHER bra size. I'll look like Jessica Simpson if I continue this way.
Movement? All the time even though she's switched up her routine a bit lately. Seems to have changed the schedule by an hour. So now it's 6am, 9am, 11am, 2pm, 6pm & 9pm. I've even felt her at night when I get up to go to the bathroom. Never gives herself a break.
Food Craving? Pink Lady sno-cones from Pelicans (even though they give me heartburn like a dirty old man)
Anything making you quesy or sick? Nope
Gender? Professional Kick Boxer
Labor Signs? No
Symptoms? Same as before. Pelvic pressure, butt & back pain. Going to the chiropractor is helping. I think I need some extra padding on my work chair because it's killing me. Some days I can't sit past 2pm.
Wedding rings on or off? Off
Happy or Moody? Happy 2 weeks ago but moody this past week
Looking forward to? All of our out of town guests coming up next weekend for the BABY PARTY! Holla. This is gonna be the BEST baby party anyone has ever seen. I seriously can't wait.

Til next time, Candice

CM Assignment: Happiness

This month's Clickin Mom's assignment is HAPPINESS.

Happiness is getting a macro lens for your birthday & taking her out for a spin. It's definitely spring here in NC (even though it has felt more like summer) which means flowers and pollen are out and about! I took my camera to work one day and crossed the street to the Capital to capture some of the flowers. Also ended up at the NC Arboretum for 30 minutes before I was exhausted. Apparently I can't get up & down and bend like I use to. Macro shots always involve getting on the level of your subject. Since I can't lie on my stomach, that presented a bit of a problem but I still got a few shots. I haven't been out & photographed anything in awhile. So this was a nice escape on an absolutely beautiful day.

I start you with my favorite from the day

And last but not least another favorite from the day. That lens was so close you could actually see the pollen on the leaf. Amazing! Gotta love macro!

We got our crib!!!

We got our crib this past weekend which was a complete miracle from JC himself! I called last Monday because it had been 4 weeks since we ordered it and the guy said that it would take a another week to get it in the store & then another week to deliver it. I wanted the nursery all set up before all our visitors in April so I was stressing a bit. So I just prayed about it the next morning and boom- they called 5 days later & it was here. Praise you Lord!

I've been waiting for this crib to get in my house for 4 MONTHS! I started doing crib research in December. I got a little obsessed with Baby Bargains book & we got sucked into buying a good quality A rated crib. This thing is made by Munire. We call it Manure around the Craig household. Seems funny that we paid all this money & our baby is sleeping in a crib that sounds like cow crap. Guess you can take a girl out of TX but you can't take the country out of her no matter where she's at.

I was so excited to see this thing arrive. It literally was like I was 7 years old again waiting for Santa to arrive. Can you tell I was excited?
From Nursery

It rained off & on Saturday and of course it started pouring when the guys drove up which made me a little nervous. Luckily it was nice & protected.
From Nursery

Like any good wife, I demanded that my husband assemble the crib NOW!
From Nursery

Luckily Mel was on hand to help as well.

And now it's all set up & ready to go.
From Nursery

Love it & love the dresser as well.
From Nursery

Still seems crazy to me that a little baby is going to be sleeping in that crib, living in our house and invading our lives. Not sure if I'll be ready by the time she gets here but her nursery sure will be. Can't wait to show you pictures of the final project in April!

Love,
One excited mama
