Happy Fall

Monday is Halloween & my friend Heather's birthday. I'm not really into Halloween that much but I am into the season of FALL! I love buying pumpkins & my husband loves carving them so it works out well.

One thing I love about Fall: LEAVES! My friend Melanie went camping in the mountains a few weeks ago & came back with the most amazing leaf pictures. I was jealous. I wish we had time to go to the mountains. I wish I had beautiful leaf pictures. Determined to have leaf pictures of my own this year, I crossed the street to my neighbor's tree.

And these were some of the shots I got.

I brought my 50mm over because I'm determined to love the thing even though I don't like it. I always have trouble focusing it but sometimes that turns out ok if you are going for the abstract look.

He really didn't want to take pictures. Instead he wanted to rake the sidewalk.

The Sokolowski Family

Here is the 2nd half of Sunday morning's photo shoot. This is my sweet friend Kelly, her husband Kurt and baby James. Kelly & I went to Belize together over 2 years ago. She was the first one to pick up on Todd's vibes. I'll never forget the two of us laying in bed together (we were roomies for the week) and her saying "I think somebody has a boyfriend". I was in total denial and had no clue what she was talking about. But sure enough, she was right!

Kelly & Kurt met me in the same park on Sunday afternoon and unfortunately the sun was out & shining by then. The sun was a bit harsh but we managed to get what we could.

Two weeks after we got back from that 1st Belize trip in August of 2010, Kelly found out that she was expecting this little guy- James.

James is a miracle baby & a great reminder to me that God's timing is ALWAYS perfect.

Although he really didn't want to participate or smile for the camera, I kept shooting anyways.

Eventually he found something that he liked- my stool.

It was a quick 30 minute session.

The Trueheart Family

My friend Nicole asked me a few weeks ago if I would do some family shots for her. They haven't had a family photo in awhile. I was more than happy to do it but getting our schedules together was a little tough. Nicole is a school teacher, her husband Kelley is a cop and their two kids Hayden & Nicholas are busy with soccer & baseball. I thought I had a busy life until I tried to schedule a time to get up with them. Nicole is superwoman who does it all! We were finally able to carve a little bit of time this past Sunday morning before church to meet up. The weather was gorgeous and the park that Nicole picked was the perfect setting for some Fall pictures.

Let me introduce you to the Trueheart Family.

How pretty is this girl? Kelley & Nicole better get ready for all the boys that will come around this one.

Nicholas didn't like the camera that much so I let him climb on something and he was fine.

It's Fall!

Its fall in NC! That means leaves are turning and the weather is cooler. It also means another party for my girls. I hosted a fall party on Sunday at Green Level Gourd Farm in Apex. It was a time for all the girls and their families to get together outside of church. This farm has a corn maze (which was a bit disappointing), hayride, face painting & pumpkins.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the girls had a great time hanging out. We started off at the corn maze.

Then it was time for a hayride.

Gotta admit that the hayride was a little lame but the kids enjoyed it.

Next it was time for pumpkins!

We had some special guests at the party- Kelsey Williamson.

Kelsey use to serve with me at Hope before her & her family moved to Charlotte. Kelsey is the most mature, wisest 16 year old you have ever met. She was in town this weekend & wanted to get together for lunch but I couldn't so I invited her to the party instead. I was so happy that she agreed to come. She also brought along a sidekick- Lauren. Lauren was in my group at Camp Kid Jam and I just fell in love with this little girl. So cute.

It was a good time had by all & a great day to get out.

A HUGE thanks to my husband for ordering the pizza and bringing it to the farm plus all of our drinks. I couldn't breathe without this man let alone organize a party without him.

Hope everyone has a good week!
